Shampoos, face wash and conditioner

I use Shampoo's from the Pawdinary range. So far the most popular have proven to be for sensitive skin (a lot of allergies out there) and Mother Fluffer (a lot of doodles as customers and this is the best on wool coats and detangles). Although this shampoo is a little more expensive it is sulphate free, paraben free, silcon free, alcohol free and no DEAs (which you may have not heard of but is something put in dog shampoo to make it foam, but is really drying to the skin). As a result the shampoo is moisturising and adds shine to your dog.

I looked at a few shampoos when setting up and I suffer from psoriasis so wanted something kind to me and the dogs. The shampoos at college always dried my skin out. I asked for recommendations from other groomers sent for tester bottles (as ever Buddy and Dudley my dogs get experiment on first) and I am happy with my choice.

If the dog is a little greasy or extra dirty I can start with a shampoo that deals with that issue before moving on. All dogs get a blue berry facial included in the standard price. This is because the formula is soap free, most dogs enjoy having a gentle face message and it smells great. You will see the bottle says it removes tear staining, that is slight marketing exaggeration (it helps)!

My last tool is Guava and Mangosteen hydrating Butter. Under the Animal Welfare Act 2006 there is a limited amount of time I can spend dematting a dog before it breaches the act. Also if your dog doesn't have a reasonable experience it can become fearful of the grooming process and detangling can be painful. That said matts around the harness area are common so massaging in some hydrating butter can help ease out those mats. I reserve the right to shave off if matting is particularly bad and I am happy to discuss combs, brushes and techniques with you, especially if you want your dog slightly longer.

Although these products add to the price of a groom I know you know your pup is worth it.
